JEFF – A Film About The People Around Jeffrey Dahmer

My best friend of 25 years, Chris Thompson has been working extremely hard on a film about Jeffrey Dahmer for the past 4+years. It all started In 2007 when he won the Milwaukee International Film Festival with a student film. The prize was a substantial amount of film rental so we began shooting on Super-16 a script loosely based around the life of Jeffery Dahmer’s last few days before his arrest featuring Andrew Swant of “What What (In the Butt)” fame and inspired by the Gus Van Sant film: Last Days.

Once the film was in the can Chris began the editorial process and realized there was something missing so he began following up with people that had a direct involvement with Dahmer. The stories they were telling were amazing so he got the camera out and began to film the interviews with the lead detective, medical examiner, and neighbor of Dahmer when this all went down 20 years ago so the film morphed into a docu-narrative hybrid.

He’s been getting some local press but he needs your help to finish the project. He has 13 credit cards and counting and a credit score that MC Hammer would be embarrassed by.

We are about 1/2 way through through the Kickstarter campaign with about 1/3 of the funds needed to finish the film for scanning Super-16 film, renting Digital Cinema cameras, researching and licensing footage and music from around the world, feeding an awesome volunteer cast and crew, renting computers, etc. Please check out the project and consider donating, it’s an amazing film I’m proud to have a small part of.  Did I mention there was prizes?
